If you don’t want to wait for Burlesque Assassin’s premiere on August 1st for an evening of glamour and titillation, it looks like you’re in luck. On July 28th, the Lunchbox Theatre is opening its doors for The Buxom Burlesque Revue. The evening is a performance showcase that features burgeoning burlesque talent as well as seasoned professionals. This month, Vancouver’s April O’Peel will be performing along with Calgary’s Raven Virginia and Edmonton’s LeTabby Lexington. O’Peel appeared at the 2012 Burlesque Hall of Fame, and will be performing at Vancouver’s premiere of Burlesque Assassins.
The event will be hosted by Sven Bjornsen, and will feature appearances by Calgary’s Garter Girls Burly-Q Revue, Kiki Laroux and Monday Blue, and Edmonton’s Coco Lala.
The Buxom Burlesque Revue takes place each month in Calgary. Emerging burlesque performers are given the chance to perform with experienced burlesque performs, clown, vaudeville, circus, magic, and theatre acts. The Revue is audition-free, as its intention is to foster the growth of new artists to keep the Calgary burlesque scene thriving.
