I think it’s safe to say that most of us don’t really know where our food comes from. Let alone what the real difference is between organic and non-organic food.

But, you know what is one of the many awesome things about Calgary? Our proximity to great local farms and businesses. On Sunday, August 19th, join Organic Alberta on their Local Organic Tour.

Tickets are only $35 and include pick-up and drop-off transportation from the Chinook LRT station meeting point and an organic BBQ lunch and snacks. The tour begins at 10 am and ends at 6 pm. You can even pick up ingredients for Sunday dinner at the various stops on the tour.

The stops included are:

 - Poplar Bluff
 - Cam’s Carrots
 - Winter’s Turkeys
 - Heritage Harvest Wheat

The goal is to create awareness for local farms and educate Calgarians on the process on the farm to cultivate great, organic produce / livestock. Having some fun at places you wouldn’t normally get access to doesn’t hurt either!

Tickets can be purchased at either Community Natural Foods or the Sunnyside Natural Market.
