DOORS OPEN YYC. DO YYC NAKED.
NAKED. NAKED. NAKED.
Connotation is the subjective cultural or emotional association or a word or phrase, perhaps an implied judgment based on values. Among the most powerful examples would be the use of the word “NAKED” and its’ ability to conjure up direct images or perhaps memories. It’s no wonder such a word can seduce a reader by its very mention.
But take a step back and think beyond its literal meaning. To be naked is to be vulnerable, to expose all of you in a natural and raw state. Something naked shows all the quirks, imperfections and unique qualities which make it interesting and beautiful.
Doors Open YYC challenges you to do just this. DO YYC NAKED. On the weekend of September 29th and 30th, thirty-five sites around the city will be open for FREE exclusive tours. Each tour has been designed by representatives of each site and will expose aspects of buildings and spaces that have been experienced by the public before.
The organizers of Doors Open YYC were purposeful and careful in the site selection process. Only after much discussion were site then invited to become part of the event. The chosen sites represent all four quadrants of the city and the integrals parts of the daily function, history and future of Calgary. They embody who and what have made this city and the exciting opportunities and goals that hope to be achieved.
Some sites require pre-registration for tours, but information for each site and its tours can be found online. Click here for Site Listings . The full site list is provided below. Join in on this great event and experience for yourself all the great spaces, buildings, amenities and institutions Calgary has to offer.
