Reel Fun Film Festival
Family Day is this Monday, February 15th, 2010. What better way to spend Family Day, than together at the movies!
The Reel Fun Film Festival actually runs all next week, so if you can’t make it on Family Day, perhaps you can fit in a film with the kids on one of the other mornings.
The Reel Fun Film Festival is a not-for-profit film festival that provides curriculum-oriented film education and international screenings. Its founders recognized a need for a family-focused film festival that would inspire Alberta children and youth to become the filmmakers of tomorrow. We continue to promote movies that open minds to cultural diversity, emotional intelligence, and media literacy.

Monday’s festivities take place at The Cardel Theatre (180 Quarry Park Blvd. SE
Calgary Alberta) and include screenings of Shorts Series 1 (K-3 at 11:00am) and Shorts Series 2 (4-6 at 1:30pm) as well as these exciting features:
Reptiles!
Dean Harper, reptile trainer for movies and television for 15 years. Several reptile stars will be on hand for families to get up close and personal with!
Special Effects Makeup!
Gail Kennedy, Emmy Award winning Make-up Artist for film and television with over 30 years’ experience will be providing special effects make-up demonstrations on willing participants!
Camera Operator!
Regan Enderl, camera operator/assistant for film and television with 20 years’ experience, will have an interactive booth where kids can try their hand at camera operating and other key positions on a film set!
Movie Dogs!
Flo Krisko, animal trainer for film and television for the past 18 years will have a cool movie dog performance and teach kids how they can train their dog to be on the big screen!
Edit a Movie!
Duane Martin, editor for film and television, will have an interactive editing suite where you make the callon where to cut and where to add cool sound effects!
Claymation!
Come and try your hand at making a claymation movie. The Director’s Cut will be there to show you how to make a claymation animated movie …become just like Steven Spielberg!
