SHOT AT THE DARK – Hannah Georgas
I stumbled upon an Orson Welles quote that reads, “I think an artist has to be out of step with his time”. Something that artists both visually, and lyrically hold true to themselves. Whether it be moving forward or backwards, the restraints of time and periods should not be one to factor what the artist is trying to portray.
This was apparent in the visit Hannah Georgas and SHOT AT THE DARK had with an old farm house. Though the house was years past its prime, it held its shape as us visitors soon became part of its wood work. Hannah Georgas, one of the fastest progressing artists in Canada, sang into these hollow rooms, as if we had travelled back to when the front door was kept unlocked, and the land was tended to every morning.
Hannah, a powerful woman from the West Coast, has travelled far and wide through the emotionally gravitating music she has now become renowned for. Her band in tow, Hannah has become the interest of an ever growing music community in Canada. Like the walls of the old house, her music will hold the stories of her travels throughout time; past, present, and future.
SHOT AT THE DARK is proud to present another BC visitor, Hannah Georgas.
Thank you to Hannah and the gang for being a part of the show.
Thank you to Julie Booth, and Dan Palmer for all of their help in making this happen.
SHOT AT THE DARK is produced by Nicole Irene Dyck, Reuben Bullock, Justin Huculak, and Brock Mitchell.
Thank you for watching.
